Works of art made from natural materials, sustainably manufactured.

Born in 1957 in Bethlehem, in the traditional Shepherds' Fields area, Ghassan Salsa is one of Palestine's most important visual artists and sculptors. His works combine masterful craftsmanship with spiritual depth—each piece from his hand tells a story of faith, culture, and peace.

Art is in his blood: His grandfather, father, and uncle were all mother-of-pearl and olive wood carvers. As a child, he spent hours observing the work of the older generations—carving, sanding, and polishing the sacred wood was part of his daily routine. This early influence laid the foundation for his own artistic path.

From 1977 to 1979, Ghassan Salsa studied at the Institute of Fine Arts and Sculpture in Bethlehem. Despite numerous international exhibitions and honors, he never left his homeland. To this day, he lives and works in Bethlehem, keeping his family's craft tradition alive.

His works have been exhibited worldwide—from Jerusalem, Paris, and New York to Atlanta, Texas, and Colorado Springs. His work has also received special recognition through awards for his participation in church reconstruction projects and prestigious art gifts. His art has been presented to Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, US President Bill Clinton, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and former President Yasser Arafat, among others.

Ghassan Salsa is not just an artist—he is a cultural ambassador. With meticulous attention to detail, decades of experience, and deep Christian faith, he carves distinctive works of art from olive wood that have a soul. Each of his works is unique and an expression of the hope, peace, and tradition of Bethlehem.
